We Are Not Learning – We Are Remembering with Saras Naidoo | Ep. 44

On this week’s episode of The True North Show I am joined by Saras Naidoo, a wonderful and inspiring woman who brings love and joy into everything she speaks about.  She shares with us the journey she has been on for so long and how she has finally come home to herself and to the wisdom that has always been within.  Saras’s purpose is to be a guide for others and it is very clear in our conversation that she is doing this holistically in the community she has created and in the work she does with her clients.  What a joy it was to spend this time with her.

Megan North (00:34) Hello and welcome to The True North Show. I’m your host, Megan North, and I would like to start by thanking the sponsors of the show, Quantum Awakening, Beth Lewis and Anne C. Clarke. Today I welcome Saras Naidoo to the show. Saras is a guide, author and spaceholder devoted to helping people return to presence, alignment and inner clarity. After retiring from a fulfilling career as a high school educator, where she taught horticulture and developed experiential learning programs, Saras followed a deeper calling into holistic and energy based healing. She is the founder of the Quantum Healing Circle for Women, a global heart centred community, and she is the creator of the Chai Chat series, a collection of 90 soulful reflections that gently guide individuals back to themselves. This work evolved into her book, Chai Chat, a 90 day journal into alignment, inner radiance and self care. Blending her experience as a master gardener, Reiki master, hypnotherapist and quantum healing practitioner, Saras brings a grounded yet intuitive approach to personal transformation. Her work is rooted in simplicity, nature and everyday rituals, reminding us that healing does not have to be complicated. Her work is also deeply shaped by her personal journey through cancer alongside her husband, which led her into profound inner healing and transformation. Saras, welcome to The True North Show. I am so happy you are joining us today.

Saras Naidoo (02:25) Thank you, Megan. I am so happy to be here.

Megan North (02:29) Sometimes the most powerful transformation begins when we slow down, breathe and come back to ourselves. Stay with us after this quick commercial break, Saras will share how healing, nature and inner wisdom can help you realign your life one gentle step at a time. Welcome back to The True North Show. I am here with Saras Naidoo, a guide, author and spaceholder whose work brings together presence, nature and deep healing. Saras, your journey from educator to healer and your book Chai Chat speak to the power of returning to self. What do you think people most need to release in order to reconnect with their inner wisdom?

Saras Naidoo (04:06) What I would say is from my own experience. I was constantly looking outside of myself for what I needed. It took breast cancer to hit me and say stop and smell the roses. I was multitasking and constantly going non stop with everything that was happening, being a caregiver to my husband and a mum to my four children. There was no time for myself. It is a story many of us experience. When that happened, I was forced to take note of what was going on within me. I started out as a teacher, very structured and practical, but over time I was drawn more into the quieter spaces because I started meditating. I became a Reiki master, a hypnotherapist and explored shamanism. I could not get enough of this work. I also spent a lot of time in nature and found the more time I spent in nature, the more healing I felt. Walking barefoot on the ground can be enough to create a shift. What I do now is create spaces through my Chai Chats, my book and my community where people can pause and reconnect with themselves in a gentle way. I truly believe everything we are searching for is already within us. We just need to slow down and listen. The answers come in that quiet time.

Megan North (06:19) Definitely. One thing I always love to share is that the word listen uses the same letters as the word silent. Listening and being silent is such an important part of the inner work. It is about really listening to what your body or your environment is telling you and then sitting with it and understanding the message you are receiving.

Saras Naidoo (06:50) Yes, this is why we have two ears and one mouth. We listen twice as much as we speak. When you want to talk to God you do it through prayer, but then you have to be quiet and listen. That is meditation and that is when the answers come. I learned that through my own experience.

Megan North (07:36) Beautiful. You mentioned your experience with breast cancer. Was that the defining moment that led you to step into this work and purpose?

Saras Naidoo (07:58) Absolutely. Ever since I was young I wanted to become a teacher and I achieved that. But during my cancer journey I realised that was my training ground. I am still teaching, just in a different way. I felt I needed to go through that experience to truly understand how to help others. I remember having the choice whether to go through chemotherapy. I meditated on it and the answer I received was that if I wanted to help others I needed to go through that experience. So I did.

Megan North (09:17) When we talk about purpose, what do you feel your purpose is now?

Saras Naidoo (09:29) My purpose is to be a guide rather than a teacher, to lead by example. Even though I call myself a healer, I cannot heal anyone. I can guide people and show them the path so they can heal themselves.

Megan North (09:54) That distinction is very important. As healers we guide people through the process, but we are not doing the healing. The individual must accept the healing for change to happen.

Saras Naidoo (10:44) Absolutely. We are simply the conduit. If someone expects me to do the work for them, I tell them to come back when they are ready and aligned.

Megan North (11:02) It is about divine timing as well. Sometimes we wonder what might have happened if we had been ready earlier, but we trust the timing of when healing occurs.

Saras Naidoo (11:34) Yes. Another thing I want to mention is that 13 years ago when I spoke about energy and frequency, people did not understand. I had to go back to basics like diet and exercise. Now people are more aware and open to these conversations.

Megan North (12:17) From a mental health and wellbeing perspective, has that journey evolved for you over time?

Saras Naidoo (12:57) Through my Reiki education I learned about mind, body and spirit balance. My mind and body were fine, but my spirit was starving. I began working on that part of myself and that is when my transformation began. I noticed where healing was needed and started my self healing journey. I have a morning routine that takes about an hour. I meditate in my own way before getting out of bed and visualise how I want my day to unfold. At night I practise gratitude before sleep. I have done this daily for 15 years. I also keep a gratitude journal and write five things each day. These simple routines have helped me tremendously.

Megan North (15:42) That gratitude practice sounds very powerful. Do you feel gratitude in your body as well as writing it?

Saras Naidoo (16:18) Yes, I treat it as meditation. Writing carries energy, which is why I prefer handwriting. As you write, you visualise and feel the gratitude. Even if you write the same things each day, continue to feel them fully.

Megan North (17:23) That connection to feeling is so important.

Saras Naidoo (18:07) Living life in joy is important. Joy raises your vibration.

Megan North (19:08) Tell us about your book Chai Chat.

Saras Naidoo (19:38) I feel very excited about the book. It is the first in a planned series. It began as daily five minute inspiration videos in my group. We went through a 90 day journey together. Members wanted to share the content, so I meditated and felt guided to write the book. Chai means tea in Ayurveda. When people gather for tea, they talk and connect. Each page offers a reflection, call to action and journal prompt. It is not a book you read from start to finish. You can open any page and receive the message you need.

Megan North (24:56) I love that it encourages action as well as reflection.

Saras Naidoo (25:32) It is a gentle self help book. I am also working on oracle cards to accompany the book.

Megan North (26:32) That sounds wonderful.

Saras Naidoo (29:48) The Quantum Healing Circle for Women began during my cancer journey. Originally the group focused on cancer coaching, but I realised I was focusing too much on the disease. I shifted the focus to healing and rebranded the group. It has grown to nearly 6000 members.

Megan North (34:28) Can you explain quantum healing?

Saras Naidoo (34:42) Everything is energy. We are all part of a larger energetic field. When we change our energy, we influence others. Thoughts, emotions and environments all affect our vibration. Practices such as grounding, meditation and energy work help restore balance.

Megan North (40:20) Do you have key messages you share with clients?

Saras Naidoo (40:20) Yes. One is that we are not learning, we are remembering. Healing does not have to be complicated. The pause is where everything begins. Small moments create big transformation. It is not about fixing yourself, it is about returning to yourself. Presence is medicine.

Megan North (45:24) What is next for you?

Saras Naidoo (46:48) I am working on oracle cards, additional books and expanding my spice blends based on Ayurvedic principles.

Megan North (50:03) What is one lesson you wish you had known earlier?

Saras Naidoo (50:26) Fill your own cup first. You cannot give from an empty cup. Even one minute for yourself can make a difference.

Megan North (52:03) Starting small can be powerful.

Saras Naidoo (52:44) The biggest step is the first step.

Megan North (53:10) Thank you for sharing your wisdom today.

Saras Naidoo (53:21) Thank you for inviting me. I feel blessed to share this work.

Megan North (53:38) Thank you to our audience and sponsors. I hope everyone has a wonderful week and I look forward to seeing you next time on The True North Show.
