Transformation Is Always Possible with Donna Sullivan | Ep. 32
On this week’s episode of The True North Show I am joined by Donna Sullivan who brings so much joy and deep insight to our conversation. Donna and I have known each other for quite some time so it was lovely to take the time to have this conversation and learn how her experiences evolved into the work that she now does with her clients. Donna shares with us a very personal story about her brother and how his journey has led to so many beautiful moments in her life.
Bio:
Donna Sullivan is an Australian holistic intuitive healer and personal and spiritual development coach who believes transformation is always possible when we reconnect with our inner wisdom. Donna’s work helps people move from fear, anxiety, and emotional pain into clarity, peace, and genuine self-worth by reconnecting them with their inner truth.
Her journey began in her early thirties while thriving in a corporate role in Sydney, when sudden, debilitating anxiety and panic attacks brought her life to a halt. Instead of accepting long-term medication as her only option, she followed a strong inner knowing that another way was possible and committed to understanding her anxiety rather than hiding from it. Repeating the affirmation “My name is Donna Sullivan, and I am triumphant,” she began exploring holistic healing, including Reiki, BodyTalk®, ThetaHealing®, energy work, and past-life exploration, gradually reclaiming her life and discovering her purpose.
Today, Donna is known for her grounded, compassionate approach that combines intuition with practical emotional tools. She creates safe, supportive spaces for clients to release old stories, heal emotional patterns, and reconnect with their authentic power through one-on-one sessions, coaching, workshops, and courses. Her mission is to raise consciousness and teach forgiveness as a powerful pathway to freedom, guiding people to transform from the inside out and step into a life of clarity, self-love, and joy.

Hello, and welcome to The True North Show. I’m your slightly sniffly host, Megan North, and I’d like to thank the sponsors of the show: Quantum Awakening, Beth Lewis, Anne C. Clark, and my lovely guest who paid to be featured on this episode.
Today, I’m joined by a wonderfully strong and caring woman who I’ve known for quite a few years through my theatre healing community, Donna Sullivan.
Donna Sullivan is an Australian holistic intuitive healer and personal and spiritual development coach who believes transformation is always possible when we reconnect with our inner wisdom. Her work helps people move from fear, anxiety, and emotional pain into clarity, peace, and genuine self-worth by reconnecting them with their inner truth.
Her journey began in her early thirties while thriving in a corporate role in Sydney, Australia, when sudden, debilitating anxiety and panic attacks brought her life to a halt. Instead of accepting long-term medication as her only option, she followed a strong inner knowing that another way was possible and committed to understanding her anxiety rather than hiding from it.
Repeating the affirmation, “My name is Donna Sullivan, and I am triumphant,” she began exploring holistic healing, including kinesiology, BodyTalk, ThetaHealing, energy work, and past life exploration. Through this work, she gradually reclaimed her life and rediscovered her purpose.

Donna, welcome to the show. I’m so thrilled you’re joining me today.
Donna Sullivan (03:21)
Thank you so much for having me. I’m really grateful to be here, and Merry Christmas. It’s only a couple of days away now. I’m excited to be here, and I truly hope that something I share today resonates with someone listening and makes a difference.
Megan North (03:48)
Absolutely. And we have so much to explore, so let’s dive in. In your early thirties, anxiety and panic attacks brought your life to a halt. What was happening for you at that time, and was this the defining moment that led you to pursue your passion and purpose?
Donna Sullivan (03:53)
It really was. It was Christmas during my thirty-fifth year. A couple of weeks before Christmas, I started feeling anxious, but I didn’t really know what it was. I went away for a short break, but I struggled with driving and participating in festivities.
When I returned home, it was my first day back at work. I woke up that morning, and my pillow was soaked in tears. I simply couldn’t function. I called my dad because there was no way I could drive. We ended up sitting in the doctor’s surgery for a couple of hours.
The doctor suggested medication, specifically Valium. What really triggered me wasn’t the medication itself, but the idea that I might have to cover this up for the rest of my life and not live authentically. I agreed to take Valium for seven days so I could stabilise, but I carried it in my bag for seven years and never needed it again.
That was the beginning of my journey. I didn’t hide from the anxiety. I committed to understanding it. I began exploring holistic healing and spirituality, reading everything I could, and trusting that another way was possible.
Later, I remembered a psychic reading I’d had years earlier. She told me I’d become unwell in my thirty-fifth year, it wouldn’t be life-threatening, but if I didn’t deal with it, I’d carry it forever. That realisation changed everything. I knew this was part of my path.
Megan North (08:44)
Wow. That must have been such a powerful moment of realisation.
Donna Sullivan (08:50)
It really was. I began to understand that I had lived many lifetimes as a healer, and I needed to reconnect with that knowledge. I started recognising that I was claircognisant, meaning I just know things without knowing how I know them.
I immersed myself in spiritual and healing practices. One book that really helped early on was by Denise Linn. It taught how to connect emotions to areas in the body. I remember sitting on the beach, tuning into a lifelong fear of dentists, despite never having a bad experience.
Through that process, I experienced a vivid past-life memory of being shot in the mouth, which explained a missing tooth I have in this lifetime. That was the moment I truly trusted my intuition.
Megan North (13:25)
I love how you talk about trusting and playing with intuition, rather than taking it too seriously.
Donna Sullivan (14:00)
Exactly. If you sense that you know things but don’t know why, that’s okay. Start trusting it. Play games with it. Guess who’s calling before you answer the phone. Once you practise, it becomes familiar. For me, intuition mostly comes as downloads of information that I then interpret.
Megan North (15:12)
So you were still working in corporate for some time. When did you step away and fully embrace this work?
Donna Sullivan (15:46)
I stayed in corporate for many years. I always knew I’d do this work later in life. COVID was the turning point. So many people were emotionally and spiritually impacted, and it felt like the right time.
I love teaching people how not to get unwell, emotionally, physically, or spiritually, rather than waiting until they are struggling. Everything is healable. That’s my belief.
Megan North (18:22)
I love that. And I think as healers, our lived experiences help us connect deeply with our clients.
Donna Sullivan (18:44)
Absolutely. I often see where beliefs were formed, whether in childhood or adolescence. When I recognise that moment, I know exactly what needs healing.
Megan North (19:15)
You’ve spoken before about anxiety and fear. Can you share your understanding of what anxiety represents?
Donna Sullivan (19:17)
Anxiety is fear of the future. Depression is unresolved emotion from the past. Healing comes from being present. That’s the only place where true change happens.
Megan North (21:40)
I love how you bring spirituality into everyday life, like calling on angels for support.
Donna Sullivan (21:59)
Absolutely. Set intentions. Ask for help. The universe responds when you allow it to.
Megan North (22:44)
Let’s talk about your healing modalities. How do theatre healing and BodyTalk fit into your work?
Donna Sullivan (22:58)
They are separate but complementary. BodyTalk reconnects the brain and body, allowing healing messages to flow. I use it often, even in everyday situations.
I’ve seen incredible results, including helping my brother when he was gravely unwell. The day I felt called to visit him, unplanned, turned out to be exactly when he needed healing.
Megan North (27:50)
That’s such a beautiful example of divine guidance.
Donna Sullivan (27:57)
It really is. Trusting those nudges has changed my life.
Megan North (30:06)
When you work with clients, do you choose modalities intuitively?
Donna Sullivan (30:29)
Yes. I primarily use ThetaHealing, but I let myself be guided. If something else is needed, I trust that guidance.
Megan North (32:52)
You mentioned the affirmation “I am triumphant.” Where did that come from?
Donna Sullivan (33:10)
I found it in a book with the cover torn off while sitting in a waiting room. It resonated deeply. I knew I needed to choose empowering thoughts to shift my energy back to joy.
Megan North (34:48)
Do you still use that affirmation?
Donna Sullivan (34:52)
Yes, occasionally. Whenever I need a reminder of who I am.
Megan North (35:31)
Let’s talk about mental health and wellbeing. How do you maintain yours now?
Donna Sullivan (35:51)
I focus on the positive, set intentions, ground myself, and practise forgiveness. Forgiveness, especially of yourself, is incredibly freeing.
Megan North (38:48)
That’s such a powerful insight. Forgiving the emotion, not just the person.
Donna Sullivan (39:10)
Exactly. Once you forgive yourself, you release the pattern completely.
Megan North (39:56)
You mentioned your brother Steve earlier. He shared a story about going to the other side. Can you tell us about that?
Donna Sullivan (40:10)
Yes. He was in a coma for ten months after his accident. He told me he met a man who said he could stay or return. Steve chose to come back because he wanted to be a dad. And he did become one.
Megan North (42:29)
What an incredible gift, both for him and his children.
Donna Sullivan (42:35)
Absolutely. Everyone brings wisdom in different ways.
Megan North (43:00)
We’re almost out of time. What is one truth you wish you’d known earlier in life?
Donna Sullivan
Trust yourself. Everything you need is already within you.
Megan North
Beautiful. Thank you so much, Donna. It’s been such a pleasure.
Thank you to our listeners, supporters, and sponsors. I’ll see you next week.
